TRANENT GREYHOUND STADIUM

The East Lothian village of Tranent once had a greyhound track which was situated at 2° 56' W 55° 56'N. It was located at Foresters Park, off Lindores Drive, and first opened its gates on 7th July 1936. It was an independently run track, built around the perimeter of the local Junior Football ground, and operated successfully for almost 20 years, but it finally closed in the mid 1950s.
